genus of malvaceous plants of many

Definition: A genus of herbaceous
prickly plants, found in the south of
Europe, Asia Minor, and India.
Description:
These wild perennials grow mainly in
Romania, Greece, eastern Mediterranean,
and Africa. Also known as Bear's
Breeches. They form lush clumps of
shiny, dark green, lance-shaped leaves,
which are deeply lobed. The leaves
are strewn with spines. The funnel

ACHILLEA
Definition:
Any of several plants of the genus
Achillea native to Europe and having
small white flowers in flat-topped
flower heads.
Description:
Popularly known as
Woolly yarrow. It is a mat-forming
perennial plant that may reach 6 to 12
in. tall and 18 in. wide. The evergreen
leaves, which are light green, pinnately
dissected, and hairy on both sides,
reach 2 in. long and are aromatic when
crushed. Flowering begins in June and
continues throughout the summer. Flowers
are very tiny, yellow, reach 1/8-in.
diameter, and form dense clusters 1 to 2
in. long. The fruit is a non-ornamental
achene.

Definition:
The herb wolfsbane, or monkshood.

Description:
The plant is a
hardy perennial, with a fleshy,

Definition: Ferns with fertile

Description:
The plant, which is quite smooth, grows
from a small, slender, ovoid,

the Mallow family. It includes the
officinal marsh mallow, and the garden
hollyhocks.
Description: Belongs
to hollyhock family. Tall perennial (3-4
